So Not Cool
So...recently I was catching up on one of my favorite shows Dexter, now in its 6th season with seasons 7 and 8 coming in 2012 and 2013 respectively, when I realized the shows writers were taking a story line down an unfavorable path. Stop the presses...Deb, his adoptive sister, has feelings for him? Ummm...who thought that was a good idea? Yuck. Now, it's a tale as old as time. Whispered rumors of step-brothers and step-sisters and other non-biologicals and non-DNA sharing family members getting it on but Dexter and Deb? No, no, no, no! That is all wrong. I need to get on Showtime's website and write a letter to the upper echelon and see what we can work out because this storyline just cannot continue down the horrid path on which it currently is on. I'ma throw a BF if something isn't erased and rewritten in the script soon. And then to top it all of Deb walks in on a crucial bonding moment between Dexter and the Doomsday Killer aka Travis Marshall!? What...now it's like he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Well, he's a serial killer cop so technically he's already damned so....what is he supposed to do marry his adopted sister so she can't get on the stand and divulge all of his dark passenger's escapades? The speculation is giving me a headache. We'll find out soon enough....any thoughts or ideas on what's to come for Deb and Dexter?

Kevin Durant makes a memorable first appearance at Rucker Park
Kevin Durant doesn't need to speak about the Ruckers. Everybody's talking about his appearance at Harlem's Rucker Park Entertainers Basketball Classic Game Monday Night. The reigning high scorer and forward for Oklahoma City Thunder sank 4 haymakers wowing the crowd. Durant says he always wanted to play at the infamous Rucker's Park and sealed the deal by scoring 66 points. He displays his excitement to fans in this tweet. Check out the baller in action in the video below.

What are your favorite quotes of all time?
Asking someone to think of and even collect a list of their all time favorite quotes could cause a major malfunction in the thinking process. For one they'd have to recollect all of the songs they've heard, books they're read, shows and movies they've watched..."of all time"...that's a lifetime of catchy phrases, thingst that have left an impression, sentiments that have stirred emotions and just plain ol' stuck in their heads for various reasons...good, bad or indifferent. Of all time...
My favorite quote of anything "of all time" would probably change with my mood, day, feeling and etc. I may quote a rap on twitter because I'm feeling that emotion that day or am having a relateable episode in my life that I feel would be best described by what Ice Cube, Biggie, Tupac or Victor Newman had to say at that moment. I rose with the dawn, handled my business, everything went as planned with my day with no hiccups "today was a good day" a la Ice Cube or "there's gonna be a lot of slow singing and flower bringing if my burgular alarm starts ringing" as Biggie said...in other words it wasn't a good day. Now, I'm on one. Thanks Drake.
Once upon a time, I read Jacqueline Susann's Valley of the Dolls. A classic book published circa 1966 that dramatizes what we currently see on reality tv shows in the nature of the Real Housewives franchise before reality tv and the rise of Jackie Collins. Anyway, in the book an aging actress, Jennifer is facing the race against Father Time. With her beauty fading, she is told that she needs to get some 'work' done to compete with the hot, young beauties of Hollywood. "Don't ever get it into you head that you have anything else to offer," she's told. Harsh.
I'll probaby think of something else I wanna quote the minute I press publish. Enlighten me...what are you favorite quotes of all time or of right now?

The Perfect Combination
It's that time of year again...back to school time and Master Lock® has engineered a new and exiting way for students to navigate the school year by hiring a new specialist on student life. The Master Mind, a cool and witty college grad, that is staring in a new humorous online video series during which he, along with his trusty side kick Little Sister, are answering frequently unanswered questions from perplexed students’ on www.facebook.com/masterlock.
As a former student and parent, the best piece of advice I can offer to students and parents hoping to surving the upcoming school year is to communicate and be upfront with each other. Parents need to listen and children need to share what's really going on however is more comfortable for you. Talk, text, pantomime if you can't get the words out verbally but get the message across somehow that's the only things can change...big or small.
Feel free to submit your own questions to the Master Mind and participate in daily sweepstakes in hopes of winning those latest and greatest back-to-school must haves by visiting http://www.facebook.com/masterlock
I am entering a contest for a Master Lock back-to-school prize pack as a member of the Mom Bloggers Club.
